jessipedia: Growth was slow at first? How long did it take until the room was up and running?

me ow: A few weeks to get more than 10-15 reliable regulars
Neesh: We were bumpin’ from the get go, because… who doesn’t love Brand New?
TheRareCreature: Well we always had Adam, me, Quart, and Dick and the crowd slowly grew in 2-3 weeks
DJ DORFPIMP: id say maybe a month until we had some real organization neesh created the fbook page and now we have twitter and tumblr too
TheRareCreature: Neesh abandoned her room basically for us - she has been a star

jessipedia: so you have tumblr, Facebook, and a twitter. What inspired you to get so well connected?

Neesh: Indeed it was, Jess. It didn’t make sense to me why we wouldn’t connect away from TT with folks having work, and school- it’s a way for us to stay connected and it also lets everyone know when we go on a Tony Hawk game kick at 4am
jessipedia: how is having a tumblr different than having a fb page? do you cross post everything?
Neesh: not everything. All the networks are used the way they’re meant to
THEdickhatch: tumblr is better at rich text and such facebook is mostly text and links only
The_JD: they post pictures and screen shots on FB
DJ DORFPIMP: facebook give announcements like for this interview or if e are doing 1& done or if someone hits a milestone
Neesh: and twitter is the feed of what’s happening currently, more or less
jessipedia: Your the first room I’ve seen with a twitter. You guys all follow it?
Neesh: there’s a few out there, they just don’t keep up with their twitter

jessipedia: I see that it says you can play anything in the Room Info, but whenever I’ve been in here it seems to tend towards rock/punk/alternative. Do you ever have nights where you break out the disco?

Neesh: Rachel, some folks did- but I don’t think they’re here right now
Feve10: jamming SO hard right now
Tired Tigress: Personally, I break out every genre. From death metal to rap to folk.

Neesh: I play a bit of alternative hip-hop
THEdickhatch: We’ve had all kinds of themed nights. We’ve had themes ranging from Disney to middle school heart throbs.
TheRareCreature: Jess- Dick played Rebecca Black today and we get a few hip hop songs everyday

jessipedia: What draws you all to Pop Punk/Rock/Emo/Alternative music?

THEdickhatch: It’s really happy, Jess. All pop punk is happy.

Feve10: the happy lyrics and the guitars and the amount of variety there is to the genre

TheRareCreature: I just can’t do nonstop pop punnk which is why i made this room….there were 2 pop punk rooms in existence at the time and they gave me a headache
Benabary: I honestly love the lyrics. They have a lot of meaning to them for me. I also enjoy nice guitar riffs and breakdowns though

jessipedia: These genres seem to be associated a lot with moody teenagers. Especially emo. Any thoughts about that?

Benabary: well i am a moody teenager
Tired Tigress: Most of us are past the teenage years, lol
DJ DORFPIMP: I think that is false because a lot of these bands are past their teenage years
TheRareCreature: Jess- I think people just are close-minded and think that because young people enjoy the music…older people can enjoy it too MOST people that come here are over 20
DJ DORFPIMP: these emotions of anger and sadness and frustration and not knowing what ur doing with ur life or relationship
Van Diver: what most people call emo isn’t actually emo.

TheRareCreature: It’s an interesting but extremely annoying debate that i don’t care about. We don’t like to debate/discuss genres too much in here
