Over the past two days, we tried out a new way of rendering your Turntable rooms. We switched from using normal HTML images to using canvas, which is less memory-intensive and would run smoother for users on netbooks.

However, we received some tweets and emails from certain active users who reported that the site was going slower for them. We looked into it and found several issues that could cause the site to run slow for certain users, such as those who have a DJ queue of a  thousand songs or more.

We don’t want our most loyal users to have to endure unnecessary difficulty when using our site, so we’ve reverted back to the pre-canvas version of the site for now. We’re going to work on improving the canvas version of the site and we’ll bring it back once we’re sure everything’s perfect.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience and we’ve really appreciated all your feedback!

PS: For all plugin creators, please be aware that these changes will be back in the next few weeks, so please plan accordingly.
