We’re proud to announce that multiple playlists are now live!
We finally did it! Multiple playlists have been, by far, our most-requested feature ever. We hope you guys are as excited as we are! You can read more about how it works in the FAQ.
One of the main reasons it’s taken us so long to implement multiple playlists is that it’s a really difficult design challenge. It’s a pretty “deep” feature and we don’t want it to over-crowd the site. You can thank our new designer Buck for figuring out an elegant solution that makes playlists accessible for pro users while still not “getting in the way” of more casual users who will only ever need a single playlist.
We also knew we didn’t want to invest so much time into such a big feature without a complete overhaul of the site. You might recall that just a few months ago Turntable looked like this:
Whereas today it looks like this:
Our concern with “cluttering” the UI was much bigger when our screen space was much smaller. Redesigning the site gave us a much bigger canvas on which we could fill out a much richer feature set.
Remember, like all new features, there may still be a little bit of polishing necessary. If you notice any bugs or serious issues with multiple playlists, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get it sorted!
