Tommy D and Jamie from Graffiti6 stopped by Turntable HQ to to spin some songs. Things got a little tense when Jamie realized that Tommy had more points than he did and started telling users to stop voting for Tommy’s songs. But at the end of the set they were neck and neck and promised to stop by again!

Introducing: Laptop Stickers!

Laptop stickers have come to Turntable! You can add stickers to your laptop by going to Settings > Laptop stickers. That’ll let you can choose what stickers you want to add and position them how you like.

Once you’ve got everything arranged the way you want, click ‘Save’ and that’s how they’ll look when you DJ!

You’re stickers will also appear in your profile, so your fans can check them out even when you are not DJing.

If you want to take a closer look at someone’s stickers you can mouse over their laptop while they’re DJing:

Who will be going to Las Vegas? The battle begins on 4/1!

We will be sending two of our very own DJs to play at BOND in Las Vegas and you get to pick who it is! Drop by http://turntable.fm/bond_bar_battle on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evening for the first round battles. Then on Wednesday it all builds up to the final round!

The party goes from 6-10pm on Sunday and 7-11pm during the week. DJs from all over Turntable will be throwing down their best for a chance to party in Vegas, so you know it’s going to be good!

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Turntable Tuesdays Contest!

We’ve partnered with The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and we’re bringing Turntable Tuesdays to their bar, BOND on April 3, 10, 17 and 24. DJ Wooooo will be starting the party on April 3rd and The Jane Doze will be holding it down on the 10th.

Everyone is super excited about playing in Vegas, Jen Mozenter of The Jane Doze had some super nice things to say, “Turntable.fm has provided us with an incredible platform to share our mashups, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the site’s journey into the live music scene. The partnership with The Cosmopolitan marks the next chapter in Turntable.fm’s success story.” Awww, we love you too!

But, the thing is, that leaves us with two more nights to fill, and who better to fill those spots than some of our very own DJs? We’re holding another battle, and we’re sending the winners to Las Vegas.

Yes, you read that right.

We’re looking for two DJs to play on the April 17th and two more for the 24th. To find out who those DJs will be we are holding a four-day battle, beginning April 1. The four DJs who win the battle will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, which includes a live gig at hot-spot BOND. Seriously.

Enter to win a spot in the battle by tweeting your favorite song to spin, along with a #BondBarDJ hashtag. If Twitter is not your thing, you can also enter by filling out this form. We will select 64 DJs to compete in the battle based on how awesome their song choice is and then you, our dear Turntable community, will decide who deserves to put their skills to the test live on the Las Vegas Strip. Entries must be received by 12 noon, EST, on Thursday March 29th in order to be eligible.

The battle will be going down from April 1st-4th, from 6-11pm EST. Each night we’re going to have four first round battles and a final battle. The winner of the final battle will be one of the DJs we send to Las Vegas.

Each night will be a little something like this:

6pm Round 1, Group 1 - Four DJs battle it out and the winner moves on to the final round!

7pm Round 1, Group 2

8pm Round 1, Group 3

9pm Round 1, Group 4

10pm The Final Round, the winners of the four previous battles play against each other and the winner goes to Las Vegas!

The official rules are here: http://turntable.fm/contest_rules but there are some details that you should know about. We’re looking for people who are flexible and can go on either the 17th or the 24th. The prize includes a two night stay, but if you win you can choose if you want to stay the night before your set or the night after. You need to be in the US and you need to be 18 years old or older to enter.

How did you hear about/when did you get started on turntable.fm? What got you hooked?

I found out about turntable.fm in July in the least cool way possible — by reading a New York Times’ article about it (http://nyti.ms/mQuvai). I was at my office reading the paper, and my iPod battery was dead, so I decided to jump on the site and check it out.

It was a heart pounding finish to our battle, with indie room regulars Sapient and @Qbertplaya facing off in the final battle. Many listeners in the room were supporting both and loudly cheering each DJs equally. In the end @Qbertplaya, knocked it out of the park with “Saeglopur (ENiGMA Remix)” by Sigur Rós. In the final battle they were joined onstage by the runners up Bruneaux and sharedferret, who also dazzled the crowd with great song choices.

The victorious @Qbertplaya will be DJing, remotely, at our SXSW Interactive event on 3/10 from 9:30-10 EST. Jump into http://turntable.fm/turntable_does_sxsw to hear the hawt tunes she’ll be spinning! The good folks at Intel are also hooking her up with a sweet ASUS Zenbook UX31 Series Ultrabook.
